Made-in-Kent Radio: the local radio station that boosts Kent businesses and relies on AEQ technology

Made-in-Kent Radio is a local radio station in the United Kingdom that has become a reference for the county of Kent. With a varied public service programming, combined with the best national and international music, the station is characterized by its commitment to its community and a highly experienced team of hosts.

The history of Made-in-Kent Radio dates back to 2010, when Matt James Soper founded The Creation Lab. However, it was during the pandemic that the project evolved into the station we know today. Since then, its goal has been clear: to support local businesses and encourage the consumption of county products. In this regard, the station strives to connect listeners with excellent Kent-based businesses, highlighting the quality of locally grown and produced products.

Currently, Made-in-Kent Radio can be tuned in through its app for smart mobile devices and, from 2024 on its website via FM and DAB, thus expanding its reach and accessibility for listeners.

As part of its recent technological renovation, Made-in-Kent Radio has opted for AEQ’s advanced digital technology. At the heart of its new system is the ultra-compact AEQ CAPITOL IP mixer, through which all the signals produced in the station pass. The choice of this technology responds to the professional level of the operators and the desire to have a robust system, high quality digital audio and simple operation.

AEQ CAPITOL IP is a fixed configuration digital audio mixing console with 8 channels. Its IP connectivity is implemented through a single module that allows 16 input and 16 output channels. In addition, it offers a wide input capacity: 4 mic/line, 12 analog, 4 digital stereo AES/EBU (AES3), 2 digital stereo USB, 2 optional phone lines and optional digital multichannel audio links. It also includes 16 AoIP channels via two Ethernet connectors or up to 64 MADI channels via fiber optics.

This console is widely used by local broadcasters around the world thanks to its IP-enabled digital technology, simple operation and high reliability. These features make it the ideal choice for public service studios such as Made-in-Kent Radio, which combine professionalism, social commitment and state-of-the-art technology.
