AEQ XPLORER MAX revolutionizes communications at RTVCE

Radiotelevisión Ceuta (RTVCE), the city’s municipal media company, has strengthened its communications with the integration of AEQ’s Intercom XPLORER MAX system.

Since its inception in 2000, RTVCE has grown to become a local benchmark, offering continuous programming on public television and radio (99.0 FM) and always adapting to the needs of citizens. Today, its team of nearly 30 professionals guarantees a modern, accessible, and high-quality service, backed by up-to-date and technologically advanced facilities.

Xplorer MAX is a wireless intercom beltpack based on innovative, high-performance digital radio technology. It comes with all the features and functions of the intercom user panel, with four shortcut keys organized into up to 4 pages, two additional programmable keys, and a multifunction display. It can work with any AEQ intercom matrix, such as Conexia, Crossnet, or TH5000. It also integrates with Xpeak, AEQ’s matrix-free intercom system, or as a terminal for the Party-Line Easynet system.

AEQ XPLORER MAX system supports up to 20 transceivers on a single antenna, with a maximum range of 700 meters in open field, and the option to link up to 4 antennas in large deployments to further expand the coverage area or the number of transceivers deployed.

The implementation includes a complete intercom system:

  • AEQ Crossnet 72 matrix
  • 4 AEQ TP8116 16-button rack panels
  • 1 AEQ TP8116 + EP8116 32-button rack panel
  • 2 AEQ TP8416 16-button desktop panels
  • 4 PHOENIX VENUS 4, integrated as IP codec (AoIP) and VoIP call

Ricardo Lacasa, Technical Director at RTVCE, highlights the transformation that this system has brought about:

«Definitely, if there is one thing that has changed significantly in our channel since our beginnings in 2000 until now, it has been the immediacy of the news or event and our presence at the scene where they occur. This change implies a need for substantial improvement in communications. After replacing the old KROMA TM6000 analog matrix with the current AEQ CrossNET 72, coordination between the different workstations has changed radically, to the point where today it would be practically impossible to do without it

XPLORER MAX, the latest addition to the Intercom system, has exceeded RTVCE’s expectations: «It easily covers the interior of our 800-square-meter facility, which has numerous interior divisions, with a single antenna

This technological upgrade positions RTVCE at the forefront of communication efficiency for television media, ensuring optimal coordination and coverage at all times.

The entire RTVCE project has been managed by RTVCE’s technical services in collaboration with AEQ’s commercial manager for the area, Bernardo Saiz.

With solutions such as XPLORER MAX and its range of Intercom and Broadcast systems, AEQ continues to consolidate its position as a benchmark in professional communication technology, offering reliable, scalable, and innovative equipment that facilitates coordination and optimizes media work around the world.
