Bay-FM, also known as Radio 2BAY, is a community radio station broadcasting from its headquarters in Byron Shire and serving the entire bay area in the state of New South Wales (Australia). Run entirely by volunteers, its main mission is to provide the community with local information and quality entertainment content.
Locally, Bay-FM broadcasts on 99.9FM, covering the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales. In addition, its programs can be followed worldwide via its well-designed website.
With a history that makes it one of the country’s most iconic radio stations, Bay-FM counts among its most recognizable voices the popular “Knights Of Bullthingy”: Michael Kenyon, The Milkshake Brothers, Grant Kenyon, and Guano Thrust.
In its latest technical upgrade, the station has chosen AEQ FORUM IP SPLIT as the digital console for its main broadcast studio. The decision was made based on its ease of use, robustness in operation, and high audio quality.
AEQ FORUM IP SPLIT is a mixing console designed specifically for ONAIR broadcast control. It incorporates all the basic functions required in this type of environment: automatic monitor muting, cough muting, fader start, signaling control, automation management for external equipment, external communications, intercom, among others.
Its modular design and compact size allow the console to adapt perfectly to different scenarios: self-control, control room, television production controls, sound production, mixed configurations, or integration into large installations. Simplicity and powerful control are combined in AEQ FORUM IP console, capable of responding to both basic and advanced needs.
The FORUM IP SPLIT version is based on the FR CORE modular engine, housed in three rack units, and can be configured with up to six quad fader modules, as well as a control and monitoring unit.
AEQ FORUM can be equipped with multi-channel AoIP input and output cards, compatible with the AES67 protocol using DANTE technology. Thanks to this connectivity, it is possible to collect and deliver signals to other consoles, routers, and terminals from more than 300 different manufacturers. Alternatively, MADI connectivity can also be chosen, and the console can even be equipped with up to two internal digital telephone hybrids.
Bay-FM’s choice reinforces AEQ’s position as a trusted technology partner for radio stations around the world, offering innovative and reliable solutions that guarantee the best experience for both professionals and their listeners.
