PAKAM RADIO is an Australian radio station with coverage in one of the most remote regions of the world, the upper half of Western Australia, specifically the Kimberley and Pilbara regions. In many communities in the area PAKAM is the only broadcasting service, so it is essential in places that are isolated for several months of the year due to extreme weather conditions. This radio service also provides emergency information and cyclone warnings. Most of PAKAM RADIO’s programs are music-based, always featuring local and indigenous artists, as well as songs in traditional languages. Programs also include community announcements, local news, interviews and any topic specifically related to your region. PAKAM RADIO caters to all ages in its programming; however, these remote communities have a high proportion of young people, making them the largest audience.

The technical management of the company decided in the last renovation to select AEQ FORUM SPLIT as the digital console for its main broadcast studio, for its ease of use, robustness of operation, and high audio quality. AEQ FORUM IP SPLIT is a mixing console designed for ONAIR broadcast control. It incorporates all the basic features required in this type of environment: automatic monitor cut, cough cut, faderstart, signaling control, control signals for the automation of external equipment, external communications management, intercommunication, etc.

The whole project has been coordinated by AEQ’s partner in the country Broadcast Components, being responsible for the equipment renewal, commissioning, configuration and especially for the operator training courses.

With its modular design and small size, AEQ FORUM adapts perfectly to different scenarios: self-monitoring, control-locutory, television production controls, sound production, mixed configurations, integration in large installations, etc. Simplicity and control power are combined in the AEQ FORUM IP console to cover both basic and advanced operation needs. The FORUM IP SPLIT version comes with the FR CORE modular engine in 3 rack units. It can be composed of up to 6 quad fader modules and a control and monitoring unit.

They can be equipped with AoIP multi-channel input and output cards compatible with the new AES67 protocol through DANTE™ technology. Through this connectivity it will be possible to collect and deliver signals to other consoles, routers, and other input and output terminal equipment, from over 300 different manufacturers. You can also choose to have MADI connectivity, and it can be equipped with up to two internal digital telephone hybrids.
