AEQ presents all its new products 2024 at IBC Show - Stand 8.C55, 13-16 September, Amsterdam

AEQ is once again at IBC to showcase its solutions: AoIP DANTE, Intercom, Multiconferencing, Audio Transport and Reporting.

Presented:

Olympia 3 System, Commentary System for large events, which manages the resources of large deployments of Olympia 3 commentary positions, with or without audio matrix.

TP 9000, new series of user panels for intercom system with 4-way toggle keys, extends the range with an expansion panel and a desktop terminal.

SOLARIS, a multi-codec audio gateway, which incorporates between 8 and 64 stereo audiocodecs in a single rack unit or a dedicated or shared server.

OLYMPIA 3 SYSTEM, COMMENTARY SYSTEM FOR MAJOR EVENTS

AEQ’s OLYMPIA 3 Commentary Unit (CU) is a purpose-built unit designed to incorporate audio commentary into broadcasts. It can operate independently or as part of a multi-channel AoIP Dante/AES67 network.

Now under the name OLYMPIA3 SYSTEM, the software infrastructure has been created to allow connection to AoIP commentary system matrices for large, multi-venue, multi-sport events. The architecture can be distributed to enhance flexibility and scalability, as unilateral services for larger sporting events are scheduled based on the contracting of circuits and teams by the broadcasters holding the rights.

As a result of this design concept, a highly flexible and scalable system has been created to cover the size and capacity of the AoIP Network – No specific or dedicated HW is required for the source and destination of audio signals: any AES67 or Dante compliant device can service Olympia 3. Technical control and operations are achieved with the new OLYMPIA3 SYSTEM software applications:

System Planner: SW application that allows the Host Broadcaster to plan the required AoIP network, auxiliary audio network devices or network nodes, and format converters. This planning is total, from event venues, contribution networks, signal distribution to broadcasters and related switching as required. It also drives the distributed database systems required at the venue level to service the commentary units with the correct configuration for audio I/O.

AEQ Olympia 3 CU Control / CU Setup: Application that manually or via a configuration ‘Wizard’ determines, for example, which Inputs, Outputs, Sum Buses, Tie-lines and monitor sources should be available to the commentary units at local and site level. This also works in combination with the site database, which is fed by the System Planner. This monitoring software also provides all the necessary monitoring, both visual and audio, as well as communication between the technical staff and the Talent or Commentators.

OLYMPIA3 SYSTEM has already been present at the most important world sporting events in the last two years, serving the radios and televisions there, so that all the audio quality of their commentators reaches their audience perfectly.

TP9000 – INTERCOM USER PANELS WITH 4-WAY TOGGLE KEYS

For Crossnet intercom systems up to 190 ports and Conexia up to 1000 ports.

AEQ presents again at IBC the TP9116 intercom user panels in rack format, adding now the rest of the elements of the family, the TP9416 for desktop and the EP9116 expansion panel. With 16 4-way toggle keys, with two functions per toggle, plus individual level adjustment on the key itself.

Talk’ and “Listen” functions and individual volume control for each communication point via a 4-way toggle key. 16 crosspoint keys, four pages, manages up to 64 destinations or groups. Information is presented on four RGB graphic displays. Broadcast quality audio. One rack unit format.

Designed for the high level of broadcast quality audio of Conexia and CrossNET matrices. IP connectivity that handles DANTE™ or AES67 format audio and low bit rate voice. Acoustic echo cancellation, automatic levelling of voice power or pitch and speech habits of each operator. Acoustics carefully studied to achieve the best intelligibility and natural sound.

DSP functions for perfect communication.

The integrated processor features:

– Acoustic echo canceller to avoid local feedback and possible feedback.

– 3-band parametric equalisation and high and low pass filters, to adjust the brightness and choose the best compromise between speech naturalness and intelligibility.

– Dynamics adjustment:

– Compression, limiting and expansion, to allow a wide range of distances and angles to the microphone.

– Noise gate, to eliminate or minimise ambient room noise, soundproofing the user panel and creating the best listening environment for communication.

– Incorporates internal TEST audio signal generators (1Khz tone @ -20dBFs, pink noise @ -20dBFs).

– It has a replay function that allows the last 16 seconds of audio emitted by the loudspeaker/headset to be played back.

SOLARIS, MULTICODEC AUDIO GATEWAY

It incorporates between 8 and 64 stereo audiocodecs in a single rack unit or a dedicated or shared server.

SOLARIS can be implemented in a dedicated server provided by AEQ, of only one rack unit and 45 cm deep, incorporating dual power supply, and five network ports to separate control, local and remote audio traffic in a flexible and redundant way.

The SOLARIS dedicated server does not have local audio inputs and outputs, the audio is delivered to a redundant IP network in AES67 or Dante formats, to connect to any compatible equipment such as matrixes, consoles, or simple IP audio interfaces such as the AEQ Netbox 32.

SOLARIS is also supplied as a Linux application to be deployed on a compatible server, dedicated or shared, chosen according to each customer’s corporate criteria.

SOLARIS is supplied with a minimum of 8 stereo audiocodecs, accompanied by the number of additional 8 audiocodec licenses required up to a total of 64 audiocodecs.

It is managed from a web interface. It also has an API to be managed from the Phoenix Control application and third party orchestrators.

OPUS, G711 (u- and A-law) and PCM encoding algorithms are standard. AAC and aPTX can be optionally incorporated.

For easy management, it has presets in which to store the parameters of different connections to be repeated in the future. It also has a contact book.

For connectivity it supports SIP with and without server (Proxy SIP/direct SIP) as well as RTP.
