AEQ has supplied its XPEAK intercom system and the new Xplorer Max wireless beltpack to the Chilean company Río Negro Televisión, which has upgraded the communications system of one of its mobile units with the support of Ultracanal, AEQ’s official integrator in Chile.
Río Negro Televisión is a content production company founded in 2001 with a strong journalistic and technological focus. It has evolved from a fixed studio operation to an agile production company with mobile units capable of covering different scenarios. In line with this growth and modernization, the company has taken a new step forward with the renovation of its intercom system, relying on AEQ technology to continue improving the quality and efficiency of its productions, both in the studio and on location.
The installation incorporates AEQ’s XPEAK system, a compact and flexible solution that enables professional communication without the need for a central matrix.
The installed system includes various intercom panels, wireless terminals, and XPEAK system accessories, complemented by antennas, interfaces, and connection and power supply elements that ensure optimal performance.
Among the equipment, the new AEQ Xplorer MAX wireless beltpack stands out, offering great autonomy, high-quality audio, and extended coverage thanks to its IP connectivity. Xplorer MAX provides total freedom of movement for technical and production staff, making it ideal for dynamic work environments such as mobile units or sets with large operating areas. Xplorer MAX can operate in coverage areas of up to 700m in a straight line with up to 20 beltpacks working on a single antenna. There is the option of expanding the working area by interconnecting up to 4 antennas on the same network.
One of the main reasons for this upgrade was the need for a modern system that was easy to implement and offered both wired and wireless solutions. Choosing XPEAK and Xplorer MAX allowed the station to optimize its daily operations, improve flexibility when working outdoors, and facilitate interconnection between cameras and control units.
Regarding his experience with the new system, Elías Figueroa, Director of Technical Services and Operations at Río Negro Televisión, comments:
«At Río Negro Television, we needed to upgrade the communications system in one of our mobile units, and we found what we were looking for in AEQ and its XPEAK system: technology and rapid implementation without the need for a matrix. Being a plug-and-play system, it facilitated a quick transition and operational flexibility. We have rack-mountable panels, desktop panels, wired beltpacks, and also the Xplorer Max wireless system, which allows us a lot of mobility and covers large spaces without having to use cables. In addition, the XPEAK_IF interface and its 4W outputs are a great complement for connecting us to the camera CCUs.»
The installation was completed with a sales visit by our staff, Luis Miguel Sánchez-Migallón and Bernardo Saiz, who traveled to the customer’s facilities to offer support and personalized follow-up on the project.
AEQ would like to thank Ultracanal, led by Hamlet Villarroel, for its collaboration as the local integrator in this installation.
This project reflects the company’s commitment to media outlets around the world, accompanying them in their modernization processes with solutions that combine technology, reliability, and close technical support.
