PROMODespí Education Centre has incorporated AEQ technology into its new radio and podcast studios

The PROMODespí Education Centre, a municipal department of the Sant Joan Despí City Council (Barcelona), has launched new radio and podcast studios equipped with state-of-the-art professional technology from AEQ. This initiative reinforces its commitment to professional training, innovation, and improving employability, offering residents a real-world radio and audiovisual production environment tailored to the demands of today’s market.

Located in Sant Joan Despí, in the Baix Llobregat region, the center is thus expanding its training offerings in the fields of communication and digital content.

Professional technology for education

At the technical heart of the new studios is the AEQ CAPITOL PLUS digital console, complemented by the AEQ AudioPLUS automation system and the AEQ VisualRPlus visual radio platform, all part of a comprehensive turnkey solution.

The AEQ CAPITOL PLUS console is a 10-fader digital console with IP architecture and a core of 16 AoIP input channels and 16 output channels under the Dante-AES67 protocol. It stands out for its extensive connectivity: 4 mic/line inputs, 12 analog inputs, 4 AES/EBU (AES3) stereo digital inputs, 2 USB stereo digital inputs, 2 optional telephone lines, and optional digital multichannel audio links; and 16 AoIP channels over two Ethernet ports.

The AEQ AudioPLUS system enables comprehensive content management for live or recorded production and broadcasting, facilitating a training experience aligned with industry professional standards.

On its part, AEQ VisualRPlus incorporates the concept of visual radio by automatically generating audiovisual content associated with traditional broadcasting, using PTZ cameras. It features a mixer with up to 8 NDI-compatible inputs, unlimited transitions, programmable macros, and advanced functions such as Picture-in-Picture, DSK, graphic overlays, recording, playout, and a multi-format AV player, enabling streaming broadcasts and adaptation to multiple digital platforms.

The equipment is complemented by technical furniture, comprehensive cabling, monitors, microphones, headphones, and ON AIR signage, with full interconnection via multi-channel AoIP links.

A project with a social impact

Beyond the technological infrastructure, the project promotes training in digital skills, audio production, and content creation, helping to bridge the digital divide and generate new job opportunities in the fields of communication and the creative economy.

The initiative has been led by the Sant Joan Despí City Council, in collaboration with Nacho Olivella, manager of the AEQ office in Catalonia, consolidating a strategic commitment to innovation, local talent, and social cohesion.
